100th Day Fun

Here are some pictures of the kiddos making necklaces of 100 Cheerios! I think more made it in their mouths than on the necklaces! Oh Well! It was fun and a bit challenging!

Flat Stanley, Money, Time, and 100th Day

We're back to work and time is flying again. We've been working the last 2 weeks on Flat Stanley and the students should be sending off their own Stanleys to have an adventure. I can't wait to see where they go and what they do!!  In Math we've been counting money and telling time. Both of these are tough skills to master, but so very important in life. The class is doing really well with them! Tomorrow is the 100th day of school!! So hard to believe!! We'll be doing some creative 100th day fun activites so check back for some pictures.  Thanks as always to those parents that have been our flashcard masters--the students are starting to whip through those subtraction facts!!

Happy New Year (a bit late)

It's been awhile since I've posted--sorry!! The holidays tend to make you slack on things (must be all the rest and relaxation)! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I've heard various lists of items that the students got for Christmas and it sounds like Santa was good to them!
We are off to a great start to 2012 and the second half of the school year. I have been reminding the class that they are now closer to being third graders than they are to being second graders!! We are working hard on subtraction facts and money in math. We've begun Flat Stanley and will be sending our own Stanleys off for an adventure soon. The students are finishing up Continents and Oceans--I'm impressed with how well they are learning them! It's been a busy week back and we'll be busy the rest of the year. So much to do, so little time!!
As always a big thanks to those that have volunteered to help out--all those that helped with the Christmas party, the great flashcard parents, and everyone else that I didn't name!! Thanks!
Here's a great picture I took with the NEW digital camera some AWESOME parents gave us!! Thanks so much!!!
