October

I have to apologize for not posting sooner. Things are just moving to fast lately and I haven't been keeping up!!  I don't know where October went and can't believe it's now November. In October we took a trip to the Wapsi Enviromental center (actually the class did, I was home with influenza) but they filled me in on all that I missed.  We presented a WONDERFUL Mass, had a GREAT Halloween party and much more. Here are some pictures from the party--the class sure did have a good time!

Map Making

In Social Studies we are working on using maps. Each group of students has been creating a different type of map, complete with a map key. Here are some pictures of the groups working hard. They are doing a great job, learning lots, and having fun!

Apple Tasting

To go with our Apple theme,  Friday the class got to taste a variety of apples. They all seemed to enjoy the different tastes. There were quite a few funny faces when they tasted the Granny Smith!

Back to School

Welcome back everyone!! It's a new year and it has started off great. We've been in school for 4 days now and I am getting to know more and more about the class. What a nice class it is!! We're working on getting the rules and routines down and starting to get the flow of second grade. My goal is to have weekly posts on my blog, but I can't promise I always will!! I hope to post more pictures and figure out how to post videos this year too ( I hope :-))!! I can tell it's going to be a super year!!

Egyptian Party

As many of you know we finished off our Egyptian theme this Friday with our Egyptian parade and party. There was a ton of fun to be had. The students looked great in their costumes!! They got to participate in various activities such as being wrapped like a mummy, pyramid stacking, pin the goatee on the pharaoh, and of course we had some Egyptian food!! It was a great way to end the theme and the children enjoyed themselves!

A HUGE THANKS to all the parents, and grandparents, that help with anything and everything for the party!!

Here are some mummified second graders and a few pyramid builders!
